Bumper Summer for Alignment Workshops
2023’s washout summer has been a bumper time for switched on workshops thanks to the current plague of potholes.
In a report released recently the AA has highlighted the record number of call outs to suspension damage caused by the parlous state of the UK’s roads. August was particularly bad for drivers, with the incessant rain causing puddles that hide damaged road surfaces. As a result the rescue company saw a year-on-year rise in wonky wheels and shattered suspension.
All this is good news for even the smallest workshops as demands for repairs and wheel alignment soar. Chris Dear, Technical Director of leading wheel alignment equipment suppliers Absolute Alignment says: “2023 has been as busy as ever for us as garages are flooded with drivers requiring wheel alignment and suspension repairs. Previously the smaller outfits would out source this work to ‘specialists’ but increasingly garage owners are realising that the latest technology is well within their reach and are turning to us for a new aligner.”
Chris points out that Absolute Alignment’s Bluetooth Lite aligner costs about the same as a round of coffees per day and can offer payback in just a few months.
“The situation for drivers is only going to get worse,” Chris continues. “With the bad weather eating into the road repair window it won’t be long before potholes will be getting worse as the cold weather takes hold. Now is a great time for even smaller workshops to turn wheel alignment into a profit centre. Few investments offer a guaranteed return, but a quality wheel alignment system from us will pay dividends for many years to come.”
